Virginia Shaw Hilliard

Mrs. Virginia Shaw Hilliard, 95, of Pittsboro, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Liselotte Care Home in Pittsboro. She was born August 2, 1911 in Roanee Rapids. Mrs. Hilliard was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, and was retired from Chatham Mills. She is survived by a brother and two sisters, Willie, neella, and Bonee, all from the Roanee Rapids area; three grandchildren, Jay Hilliard, Mark Hilliard, and Michelle Asmonga; and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hilliard was predeceased by her husband, Lynn Hilliard, Sr; two sons, Norman Hilliard and Lynn Hilliard, Jr; one brother, and several sisters. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Sanders at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Solid Rock Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Old Rock Springs Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 pm Monday at Griffin Funeral Service and Cremation in Pittsboro.
