A gifted graphic designer, Josh possessed a remarkable talent for visual storytelling that captivated the hearts and minds of many. His adeptness in the arts was matched only by his profound love for history, particularly American history, with a passion for the Civil War that found him regularly immersed in study and research. His enthusiasm was complemented by his hobbies—spending time searching for period era finds and metal-detecting, continues to reflect a dedication to preserving history.
Education was held in high regard by Josh; he attained a Bachelor's Degree that enabled him to harness his creativity and pursuit of knowledge into a fulfilling career. Those who encountered him, whether colleagues or friends, bore witness to his kind spirit, characterized by a personality that was rarely ruffled, quiet yet friendly. Josh had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, forming bonds and friendships that many would consider invaluable.

The loss of his beloved mother, Donna Allen Mangum, brings a somber note to the story of Josh’s life; she will forever remain a cherished part of his legacy, guiding him in spirit as he traversed the journey of life.
In recognition of the joy that Josh instilled in others and the impact he had within his community, he was a proud member of York's Historical Society.
